Description

The Nimzowitsch Attack is a variation of the Petrov Defense in chess, named after the famous chess player Aron Nimzowitsch. In this variation, white plays 3.Nxe5, giving up a pawn in order to gain an advantage in development and control over the center of the board. Black can respond with 3...d6, attempting to regain the pawn, or with 3...Nf6, attacking white's knight and putting pressure on white's position. The Nimzowitsch Attack is considered to be a solid line for white, and can lead to sharp and complex positions on the board.
